Collection: Ariana Barchi Moroccan Shag Rugs

After migrating to the US, the Ahmadi family found themselves repairing rugs from various parts of the world. It was during the restoration of a vintage Moroccan rug that they fell in love with the simplicity of its designs and colors. Inspired by their encounter, they began buying and selling Moroccan rugs. Upon returning to Afghanistan, they sought to reestablish their weaving facility in Western Kabul. They commissioned a select group of employees to train local weavers in Dasht-e-Barchi, a district of the city. The name "Barchi" was derived from this specific area. These rugs feature a long pile and are woven using Turkish knots, mimicking the original Moroccan style.

The Barchi collection made its debut at the prestigious Hali Show in Istanbul, garnering significant attention. The renowned London-based Cover Magazine dedicated more than six pages to introducing this remarkable product to the world. This collection remains in production, offering custom sizes, colors, and designs to cater to individual preferences. The Ahmadis' commitment to preserving traditional craftsmanship and their innovative approach has given birth to a distinctive line of rugs that beautifully blend Moroccan and Afghan influences, creating a truly unique and sought-after collection.
